Real madrid could oer turn the deficit in the second leg Copa Del Ray tie where they were traling by 4-0 against Alcorcon.

In the second leg Real Madrid dominated the game with 69% possesion but could not find a way to the goal until the 8oth minute when out of favour midfielder Van Der Vaart scored from the edge of the box to make it 1-0 on the night. It was too little too late as R. Madrid crashed out of the Copa Del ray.
