Roberto Mancini’s side hosted Wigan Athletic in the Monday night football and grab a very important win in the race for the 4th position, Top scorer Carlos Tevez scored a stunning second half hattrick to win the game for the home team.

Emmanuel Adebayor returned to the City side after a four-match suspension. The Togo striker was one of four changes manager Roberto Mancini made to his team following the home defeat by Everton.

Game was scoreless until the halftime, both team had their fair share of chances to score goals but neither could take advantage of the chances. Both the keepers had to make some great saves to keep their team in the hunt.

The victory moved City up to fifth placed on 56 points, just two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham in the race for the final Champions League place.
