Turkey will be hosting World Championship of Basketball starting from August 1st to August 28th in four cities of the countary. There has been alot of fuzz going on about the Event and Finally Tureky got a chance to show the world that they are ready for the big events. The draw for the compition was held in december 2009 and 24 teams have been drawn into four prelimnary groups. Four Cities of Turkey will be hosting the event including Istanbul, Ankara, Kayseri and Izmir.

2010 FIBA World Championship Preview: There is just one week to go when the Basketball World Cup will get underwy in Turkey, All the teams are playing warm up matches to get a good buildup to the ultimate price in World Basketball. USA always come into the big international Basketball events with huge amount of expetations and ofcource some nerve racking pressure, and that is fairly understandable because of the success of NBA everyone thinks USA gonna top the International basketball events as well. Thier Current rank in the International Ranking is 2. If everything goes out as planned for USA they might meet spain in the semi Final and that is somthing to look forward too.

Turkey will be playing without the need of any qualification to the Fiba 2010 Championships, so will USA who are the winners of 2008 Basketball Olympic Medal winners. While most of the other teams qualified through the extensive qualification rounds which were held in different continents. While On Saturday, December 12, FIBA awarded Germany, Lebanon, Lithuania and Russia the four wild cards.
