wasn’t exclusion for Arsene Wenger players.
Arsenal started brightly and constantly making pressure on the opponent. By the 10th
minute it was rewarded. Podolski picked the ball from the opponent and gave pas to
Gibbs, who hit on goal. Kelvin Davis could only get with his foot to the ball, causing
Hooiveld turned the ball into his own net.
A little later, Per Mertesacker experienced Davis with the header after the Santi Cazorla’s
corner. Arsenal began to assert their dominance on the field.
Hooiveld was replaced by Maya Yoshia at 28 minutes. The Saints tried to change
something in the game. But then, for a few minutes, they conceded two more goals.
Podolski scored first, breaking Kelvin Davis’s with a free-kick, and then Gervinho scored,
after assist of Mikel Arteta.
Gibbs again participated in an own goal. This time the ball flew into the net from the
Saints left-back Klein.

made a wrong output and on lost the ball from his hands. In this mess, Fox took the ball
and scored into an empty net of Arsenal.
In the second half there was a good chance for Ricky Lambert, but he missed it.
Gunners continue to strengthen their leadership. After substitution, Aaron Ramsey broke
into the penalty area and drove the ball beautifully into the far corner. But the ball hit the
post and fell to Gervinho, who poked the ball into the empty net.
Gervinho and Podolski were replaced. Substituted Walcott with his left foot hit the empty
net after shooting of Thomas Vermaelen.
