Norwich currently stands on the sixteenth position with seven points in their nine games. They are undefeated in two games with a home win against Arsenal. So they will have some confidence in this match. It is doubtful that they will worry too much about the League Cup instead of their EPL matches.
Norwich played with a reserve squad in the last round of the cup at home against Doncaster. They will again play without their key players in order to concentrate on their Premier League survival.
Tottenham is standing on the fourth position with seventeen points in their first nine matches. They have suffered a big loss to Chelsea two weeks ago. They have won five of their last six EPL matches. Spurs will be taking the league cup more seriously, as Andre Villas-Boas wants to win trophies.
Tottenham wants to succeed in the Europa League too, where their manager putting out nearly full strength line-up.
Chris Hughton said that he will make some changes for Norwich. Mark Bunn and Harry Kane are both injured.
Andre Villas-Boas is very happy with his team, but he has big fixtures against Manchester City and Arsenal on the horizon, so he will try to preserve the fitness of his key players. Also he is still can’t count on injured Emmanuel Adebayor, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Mousa Dembele, Younes Kaboul and Scott Parker. William Gallas and Gareth Bale will rest for this time.
