Spartak vs Barcelona Preview:

In November 20th, Spartak welcomes Barcelona at the Olimpiyskiy stadion Luzhniki in Moskva. The hosts have a real injury-hit before they face Catalan giants. The Russians’ manager Unai Emery has a lot of matches against the Blaugrana. But they have a number key players missing for their decisive game.

Spartak are currently the fifth in the Russian Premier League with twenty nine points after sixteen rounds. They have won nine, drawn two and lost five games.  They are ten points behind the leader CSKA and five points behind Anzhi. They are fighting for the second Champions League place.  Also, they have won three of their last four league games.  In the Champions League they have just one win in four matches. It leaves them on the last place of the group G with three points.  Spartak need a win in this game, otherwise it will leave them very small chances to qualify. If they lose in this match, they will be without knockout stages.

Barcelona are standing comfortably at the top of La Liga with thirty four points after twelve games.  They are going confidently to win back the Spanish title which they lost to Real Madrid last season. Barca have an eight point lead over Los Merengues.  In the Champions League they have three wins after four matches, and only one shock win with Celtic. One more win in their two remaining games will allow them to qualify as the leaders of the group. Barcelona needs just one more win to guarantee top spot.  Also they welcomed back their captain Puyol.

Spartak Moscow have a lot of injured players ahead of their important match against leaders Barcelona. The Russian team has a goalkeeping problem. Their third-choice Artem Rebrov also injured in the 1-1 draw with Volga at the weekend. Now he will join Andriy Dikan and Sergei Pesyakov.

The hosts are missing forwards Artem Dzyuba and Welliton. Sergei Parshivlyuk, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Romulo and Aiden McGeady also are unavailable. Defender Nicolas Pareja is suspended.

Tito Vilanova will be looking for rehabilitation after 2-1 defeat to Celtic on fourth round. The Catalan grand welcomes back Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol. At the weekend they won Zaragoza with the score 3-1. Another defender Marc Bartra has injured, while attacker Alexis Sanchez will be missing for up to four weeks.
