Manchester City vs Real Madrid Preview:

On the 21st of November Manchester City welcomes Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. Roberto Mancini is hoping for a Champions League wonder. Last season winners of the Premier League and La Liga will fight for three points at the Etihad on Wednesday. The English team needs only a win to keep their dreams of qualification alive.

Manchester City tops the EPL with twenty eight points after twelve games. They have won four and drawn two of their last six home games. Real Madrid stands on the third place with twenty six points. They have won four, drawn one and lost one of their last six away games.

City is going on the last position in the group with two points after four matches. Real Madrid is the second after BvB with seven points. Theoretically City have chances, but they’ll need a win. Even then they have a tough task prospect.  To qualify they need that Real Madrid will lose to Ajax in the last round, and today Dortmund should get three points with Ajax.

These two teams met in Madrid at the first round and Real Madrid have won with the score 3-2.

Gael Clichy injured his ankle during Manchester City’s 5-0 win over Aston Villa at the weekend. Roberto Mancini could replace him with other left-back Aleksandar Kolarov. Joleon Lescott and James Milner are still out of the game. Micah Richards will be sidelined for a couple of weeks too. Samir Nasri could return after illness and Jack Rodwell could start this game on the bench. Matija Nastasic has played in the last game, so he could back to his place in centre of defence.

Real Madrid can count on injured Gonzalo Higuain and Marcelo. On the other hand, Jose Mourinho has a full squad to choose from. Benzema and Ronaldo are ready for this clash as they played in the last 5 -1 win over Athletic Bilbao.

Manchester City line-up: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastasic, Kolarov, Nasri, Y Toure, Barry, Silva, Tevez, Aguero.
