Bayern München vs Borussia Dortmund Preview:
On the 1st of December 1 Bayern München welcomes Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz-Arena in München. The hosts will aim to make another step to league title and kill the last season champions’ hopes. The visitors come into this game eleven points behind the leaders, and hope to get three points to keep their chances on a third straight Bundesliga title.
Bayern are top of the Bundesliga with thirty seven points after fourteen rounds. They have won twelve, drawn one and lost one game. They have four wins and a draw in their last five games. Bayern had a fantastic start of this season. They are looking very strong and will aim to win their first Bundesliga title in three years. The players they have bought in summer like Mandzukic, who scored nine goals in eleven games and Javi Martinez, will help them to achieve this goal.
Dortmund are third in the league table with twenty six points after fourteen games. They have won seven, drawn five and lost two matches. Also BvB have played three wins and two draws in their last five Bundesliga matches. Dortmund was looking for their third straight title, but they are eleven points behind their main opponents. They had inconvenient start, but now BvB improved a lot and are undefeated in ten games in all competitions. In the Champions League they have qualified to knockout stages as the group winners ahead of Real Madrid.
Head coach Jupp Heynckes has a full squad to choose from. Bastian Schweinsteiger could play alongside Javi Martinez in the centre, Xherdan Shaqiri could be dropped on the bench, Toni Kroos will play forward. Also, have to make a decision on who will lead the attack line Mario Gomez, Mario Mandzukic or Claudio Pizarro. Luiz Gustavo remains sidelined due to injury. Jerome Boateng is under doubt.
Borussia Dortmund also gave a rest to couple of key players for the game against Fortuna on Tuesday. Mats Hummels will replace Felipe Santana. Ilkay Gundogan could return till this game. Jurgen Klopp could start with Sebastian Kehl and Sven Bender in the centre. Mario Gotze will play in the start, while Kevin Grosskreutz probably will be dropped on the bench.
