On the 5th of December Chelsea welcomes Nordsjælland at the Stamford Bridge in London. The European champions must win to keep their hopes on knockout stage alive. The Blues need to get three points and rely on Shakhtar Donetsk beating Juventus in Group E’s parallel match.

Their present form has been awful with three defeats and two draws in their last five games. In the Champions League they are third in the group E with seven points after five rounds. They need to hope Juventus will lose against Shakhtar to go through. Chelsea’s fate is out of their hands. If Shakhtar and Juventus will draw, those teams go through with Chelsea finishing third. All they can do is beat Nordsjaelland and hope.
Under new coach Rafa Benitez they have drawn two and lost one game, so he is under pressure.
