On the 8th of December Sunderland welcomes Chelsea at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland. The Blues still are looking for first EPL win under Benitez coaching. Spaniard has picked up his first win in the Champions League. On the machday 16, the west London club travels to the Stadium of Light pay a visit to Sunderland.


Sunderland are seventeenth in the EPL with thirteen points after fourteen games. They have won only two, drawn seven, and lost five games.  They have one win, one draw, and three losses in their last five matches. In these last matches they have scored seven and conceded nine goals.  Sunderland is really struggling this season. They are just one point above relegation zone.  Fletcher, Cattermole, John O’Shea are struggling with injuries this season.


Chelsea are third in the table with twenty six points after fifteen rounds. They have seven wins, five draws, and three defeats. Their recent form has seen three draws and two losses in their last five EPL games. They scored three and conceded six goals in the last matches. Chelsea are having their worst run in last seasons. Rafa Benitez needs to win this game against outsider. In the Champions League they trashed Nordsjaelland with the score 6-1, but demoted from third place to Europa League.


The Black Cats forward Steven Fletcher but should be fit to start this game. John O’Shea still is not recovered after a calf problem, but he may take his place on the bench. Sunderland have no new injury players, with Wes Brown and Lee Cattermole.

SunderlandJohn Obi Mikel starts a three-match suspension after the situation with referee Mark Clattenburg. John Terry and Frank Lampard are recovered from injuries, but they still remain out of this game. Daniel Sturridge also will miss this game.
