Manchester City vs Man Utd Preview:
On the 9th of December Manchester City welcomes Man Utd at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. Two rival teams clash in table-topping match. Sir Alex Ferguson’s team comes to the Etihad with three point advantage over Roberto Mancini’s men. The Premier League champions will try to get home win and concentrate on the EPL after Champions League departure.
Manchester City are second in the EPL with thirty three points after fifteen games. They are still unbeaten and have won nine and drawn six games. Their present EPL form has seen three victories and two draws in their last five games. At home they managed to play two wins and three draws in their last five games. Last week they played two games where managed a 1-1 draw with Everton and a 1-0 defeat at Dortmund. In the Champions League Man City was relegated for the second straight year. This time they have been demoted from the last fourth place with just three points.
City have problems with the form and health of some key players this season. Silva is unlikely to make a return, as Milner, Kolorov and Richards too. Clichy should be back along with Rodwell and Yaya Toure to the start-squad.
Manchester United are top of the EPL with thirty six points after fifteen games. They have twelve wins and three losses. In the last five games they have four wins and one defeat. Also they have three wins and two losses in the last five ties far away from home. The Red Devils won Reading with the sore 3-4 and were defeated by Cluj at home with the score 0-1 past week. In the Champions League they have qualified from the first place with twelve points, having four wins and two losses.
United also have their own injury problems with Cleverley, Anderson, Nani and Vidic. Valencia and Kagawa are expected to be fit.
This is the biggest tie of the season of the two main contenders for the EPL title. Manchester United have a three point advantage. They may be called outsiders of this clash, as they suffered two defeats from City last season. This should be a great fight between the two top European teams.
Manchester City’s main injuries lie in defence zone. Gael Clichy is going to return. Left-back Aleksandar Kolarov also is close to full fitness. They can’t count on James Milner, and Micah Richards. Jack Rodwell is ready to help Roberto Mancini. David Silva still has hamstring problems, but he could be replaced by Javi Garcia in the centre.
The guests have injury problems in central zone with Anderson and Tom Cleverley. Antonio Valencia and Nemanja Vidic could be available for this game. Sir Alex Ferguson thinks that the Serbian captain should return his full form. Nani als is not ready for this game, while Shinji Kagawa could appear on the bench.
