Norwich City vs Manchester City Preview:

On December 29th Norwich welcomes Manchester City at the Carrow Road in Norwich, Norfolk. Mancini’s team will try to get fifth following victory over Canaries. Four forwards of the Premier League champions’ have scored just three goals in their last eight games and have taken fourteen points in that period. It is the same amount of points as their current opponents.

 

Norwich are eleventh in the EPL standings with twenty five points from nineteen games.  They have won six, drawn seven and lost six games so far this season. Their last five matches have seen three wins and two defeats. At home the Canaries have four straight wins and one defeat from their last five games.  Norwich were on the best run in the EPL, but have since lost a lot of points and have come crashing back down. They are back in the middle of the table albeit even on points with the teams in ninth and tenth places.

 

Manchester City goes the second in the league table with thirty nine points from nineteen matches, having won eleven, drawn six and lost two matches so far this season. Their present form has seen two wins, one draw and two losses in their last five ties. Their last five away matches have seen two wins, two draws and one defeat. The Citizens suffered a shocking defeat at Sunderland on Boxing Day, so now it leaves them seven points behind of first placed Manchester United.

 

Norwich have no new injured players. They have lost with the score 1-0 to Chelsea on Boxing Day, and now welcomes other strong club. John Ruddy with thigh injury still remains a long-term absentee. Andrew Surman with knee problem and Steven Whittaker with hip will both miss out this game.

Manchester City can count on Pablo Zabaleta which pick up a cut to the head on their 1-0 defeat to Sunderland. Aleksandar Kolarov may return after a knee injury, but he is doubt for this match. Maicon is out cause of knee injury. Mario Balotelli is still feeling the effects of illness, so he will remain sidelined. Carlos Tevez is under doubt through the illness too, but he may be featured in this game.
