On the 6th of January Milan welcomes Siena at the San Siro in Milano. Rossoneri will want to get first new years’ points after return from break against struggling Tuscans. Massimiliano Allegri’s team suffered a 4-2 defeat against Roma before the winter holidays, so they will try to rehabilitate with a win against the relegation nominees on Sunday.


Milan goes seventh in the Serie A standings with twenty seven points after eighteen games, having eight wins, three draws and seven losses. Their present form has seen four straight wins and one loss to Roma from their last five games. At home Rossoneri have finished their last five games with four wins and one defeat. They had won four of their last five Serie A games, including a win against champions Juventus, but lost to Roma with the score 4-2.

Siena are at the bottom of the league table with eleven points after eighteen games. They have won four, drawn five and lost nine games so far this season. Their present form has seen one draw and four straight defeats. Bianconeri’s last five games on the road were ended with two draws and three losses. They had only one win over Milan in 2005. The Tuscans could extend their winless run to six games if they fail on Sunday.


Milan are missing only one main midfielder Nigel de Jong, who has been out of the game for the rest of the season. Alexandre Pato has completed his transfer to Corinthians. Marco Amelia will start against Christian Abbiati in goal, while Mattia De Sciglio will continue at right-back instead of Ignazio Abate. Philippe Mexes is banned and will be replaced by Daniele Bonera.


Kevin-Prince Boateng is at the centre of the racist scandal, after he leaved the Pro Patria field cause of Pro Patria’s mad supporters in Thursday’s friendly match.


Siena can’t count on forward Emanuele Calaio via suspension. They do no have real injury concerns.
