On January 16th Arsenal welcomes Swansea at the Emirates Stadium in London. The Gunners still are looking for win in 2013. After Danny Graham’s equalizer, Arsene Wenger’s team must once again face Swans. Michael Laudrup’s team is unbeaten in seven games in a row and they will try to keep their hopes of a first key prize since 2005.


Arsenal goes sixth in the EPL standings with thirty four points after twenty one games, having won nine, drawn seven and lost five matches so far this season. Their present form has seen two wins, two draws and one loss from last five games. In last five home games in all competitions the Gunners have three victories and two defeats. This weekend they have lost to Man City with the score 0-2.                                                                                                                                                       Arsenal have won the FA Cup for ten times. The last time was in 2005. By the way it was the last time they won a major trophy.

Swansea are ninth in the league table with thirty points after twenty two games. The have seven wins, nine draws and six losses this season. Their last five games have seen two wins and three draws. Far away from home the Swans have two wins, two draws and one defeat from their last five. Swans currently have a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

The last meeting finished with the score 2-2, consequently this replay. Also the Swans leaved the Emirates Stadium with a 2-0 victory this season.


Arsene Wenger can’t count on Mikel Arteta due to a calf strain, and on defender Laurent Koscielny cause of suspension after a red card against Manchester City. Andre Santos and Abou Diaby are expected after recent injuries, but they might not be risked. Oliver Giroud may appear instead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Lukas Podolski. Carl Jenkinson could play at right-back.

The visitors will play without Neil Taylor as he has a fractured ankle. Leon Britton could get rest. Michael Laudrup is counting on Michu, who has scored three times in his last two games against Arsenal. Also Danny Graham could play after scoring four goals in his last five games.
