On January 23rd Arsenal welcomes West Ham at the Emirates Stadium in London. The visitors will look to improve their pure away record. Arsene Wenger’s team comes into this game with hopes on top four. Sam Allardyce will try to end the club’s current slide down the league table.

Arsenal are sixth in the EPL table with thirty four points from twenty two matches. They have won nine, drawn seven and lost six games so far this season. Their current form has seen two wins, one draw and two losses in their last five matches. Last five home games the Gunners have finished with three wins and two defeats.                                                Arsenal was very disappointed by defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea. Last weekend they have lost in away game to Chelsea with the score 2-1, showing a pretty good play.

West Ham goes twelfth in the league table with twenty seven points from twenty two matches, winning seven, drawing six and loosing nine so far this season. Their present form has seen one win, one draw and three defeats in their last five fixtures. Their last five games on the road have seen one draw and four defeats.                                                                             West Ham are well clear of the relegation zone, going eight point above eighteen placed Reading. They have to gather points and end their poor run.

 

Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger can’t count on Tomas Rosicky cause of calf injury and Lukasz Fabianski which has an ankle problem. Andre Santos could be fit for this tie. Mikel Arteta has started trainings after calf injury, but he may not be risked.                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Ivory Coast forward Gervinho will represents his country at the African Cup of Nations. Abou Diaby is waiting for pre-match fitness test.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has given rest to Carlon Cole in the weekend’s game against QPR, but today he has all chances to return into the starting line-up. On-loan Arsenal’s forward Marouane Chamakh is unavailable against his parent club. Andy Carroll and George McCartney will miss out this trip cause of knee injuries. James Collins is still a doubt. Striker Modibo Maiga is representing Mali at the ACN.
