Stoke City vs Manchester City Preview:

On January 26th Stoke City welcomes Manchester City at the Britannia Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The visitors will try to extend their unbeaten run in new year. The last five games between these teams at the Britannia Stadium have finished with the score 1-1.

Stoke goes tenth in the league table with twenty nine points from twenty three games. They are safe from relegation zone, so can focus their hopes on the FA Cup. Their present form has seen one win, one draw and three defeats in their last five matches. Their last five home games have ended with two wins, two draws and one loss. Stoke City progressed to the fourth round after winning Crystal Palace 4-1 in extra time.  Jonathan Walters with eight goals is the top scorer of Stoke.

Manchester City are second in the EPL standings with fifty one points after twenty three games. They are just five points behind the leaders Manchester United. Their current form has seen five straight wins. Last five away games the Citizens have finished with three wins and two defeats. They still are in the title race. Man City have overcome Stoke (3-0), Arsenal and Fulham in the EPL in new year and Watford in the FA Cup third round to progress to this stage.

These teams played the FA Cup final at Wembley in 2011. Yaya Toure scored the only one winning goal and brought the prize for Roberto Mancini.

Stoke City head coach Tony Pulis probably will make some changes from the squad that lost to Swansea. Thomas Sorensen could get his chance in goal. Cameron Jerome and Kenwyne Jones could starts from the first minuets, but Jonathan Walters and Peter Crouch are more expected in the starting line-up. Rory Delap has hernia problem and Marc Wilson is out via broken leg, so they both remain sidelined.

Roberto Mancini could also change his goalkeeper and play with Costel Pantilimon instead of Joe Hart. Joleon Lescott and Aleksandar Kolarov could start from the first minutes. Samir Nasri and Jack Rodwell remain in contention. Sergio Aguero will start from the beginning to return his playing form. Carlos Tevez probably could get rest, while Mario Balotelli will start from the bench. Right-backs Maicon and Micah Richards are still out cause of knee injuries.

Stoke City line-up: Sorensen, Whitehead, Huth, Shawcross, Cameron, Whelan, Adam, Nzonzi, Etherington, Walters, Crouch.
