Lazio vs Juventus Preview:

On January 29th Lazio welcomes Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico in Roma. Conte will try to score to overturn the Biancocelesti’s away goal advantage. The Bianconeri need at least one goal at the Stadio Olimpico after a 1-1 first-leg draw, if they want to keep their chances to progress to their 15th Coppa Italia final.

This is the re-match semi-final of the Coppa Italia between the five time champions Lazio and the nine time champions Juventus.

Lazio currently goes third in the Serie A standings with forty three points from twenty two games. Their present form has seen two wins, two draws and one defeat. Biancocelesti have lost their last home game against Chievo 0-1 this weekend. It was their first defeat in seventeen games. Their last five home games have ended with four straight wins and one defeat. Lazio managed to score a very late equalizing-goal away at Juventus Stadium. Also theiy have failed to defeat Juve in their last nine fixtures, losing six of them.

Juventus are first in the Italian league table with forty nine points from twenty two games.  Juve are the leaders of Serie A, but they are in a bad disposition after a 1-1 home draw with Genoa. Their present form has seen only to wins and three draws. Last five away games Bianconeri have finished with three wins, one draw and one defeat. They need to score at a goal at away ground. Their away record is astonishing with fourteen wins, five draws and only one defeat. Juventus are searching for a record tenth Coppa Italian title.

Juve must score, so probably they will start with two forwards. Fabio Quagliarella could maintain his play in starting squad. Sebastian Giovinco could replace Mirko Vucinic. Andrea Pirlo could return to training, but his fitness is far away from playing on Tuesday’s game. Kwadwo Asamoah represents Ghana at the AFCON, so Arturo Vidal, Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio will continue in central midfield zone. Emanuele Giaccherini probably will replace Paolo De Ceglie on the left flank.

Lazio’s top forward Miroslav Klose is still out due to muscular injury. So Sergio Floccari will continue up front. Also, Libor Kozak could start. Lazio will play in defensive football, with Luis Pedro Cavanda and Stefan Radu at the wing-backs. Michael Ciani or Andre Dias could start alongside to Giuseppe Biava in central defence. Antonio Candreva is expected to return to the first eleven, after missing the first leg.

Lazio line-up: Marchetti, Cavanda, Biava, Ciani, Radu, Candreva, Ledesma, Cana, Hernanes, Mauri, Floccari.
