Manchester United vs Southampton Preview:

On January 30th Manchester United welcomes Southampton at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Red Devils will try to extend their unbeaten run to thirteen games against Saints. Sir Alex Ferguson’s team hasn’t lost in the EPL since November will be looking for another three points as they are in good form.

Manchester United stands at the top of the EPL with fifty six points from twenty three matches, winning eighteen, drawing, and losing three. They have a five point lead over second-placed Manchester City. Their present form has seen four wins and a draw in their last five games. Last five home matches the Red Devils have finished with five straight wins. Manchester United have signed Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window.  But he will not be a first teamer this season, cause he will be loaned back to Palace for the rest of the season.

Southampton goes fifteenth in the league table with twenty three points after twenty three games, having five wins, eight draws and ten losses. They have a little space over the relegation zone. They are four points ahead of eighteenth placed Reading. Their present form has seen four draws and one win in their last five games. Last five away games the Saints have finished with one win, three draws and one defeat. Southampton faired their manager Nigel Adkins after the last game. The new head coach Mauricio Pochettino may want to bring some new players, but he have to wait until the summer.

Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Shinji Kagawa, Antonio Valencia and Robin van Persie will return to starting squad, after having been rested in their FA Cup game against Fulham. Chris Smalling, Anderson, Nani, Ryan Giggs and Chicharito were involved in that match. Jones could play into a central midfield along with Carrick. Jonny Evans has hamstring injury and Ashley Young has a knee problem, so they are looking for fitness test.

Mauricio Pochettino the most likely will play with the same squad that played a goalless draw with Everton. Vegard Forren is available for this game after his transfer from Molde. So the Norwegian centre-back could make his debut. Adam Lallana has returned from a knee injury, but he likely will start from the bench.
