Norwich vs Tottenham Preview:
On January 30th Norwich welcomes Tottenham at the Carrow Road in Norwich, Norfolk. Both clubs are looking to rehabilitation from early FA Cup exits. After suffering surprise losses from Luton and Leeds at the weekend, both teams will be looking for points in the EPL.
Norwich are thirteenth in the league table with twenty six points after twenty three games. They have six wins, eight draws and nine defeats so far this season. The Canaries are seven points above of the relegation zone line. Their present form has been poor with three losses, one win and one draw in their last five matches. Last five home fixtures Norwich have finished with the same stats. They are currently safe, but a few more losses could involve them in relegation fight.
Tottenham goes fourth in the Premier League with forty one points from twenty three games, winning twelve, drawing five and losing six so far this season. Their present form has seen two wins, two draws and one defeat from their last five matches. Last five away fixtures Tottenham have finished with two victories, one draw and two defeats. The Spurs are still holding their hopes on important final Champions League spot. They are three points above fifth-placed Everton.
Norwich are still without Morison and Ruddy. This has surely affected their defensive performances. Chris Hughton will make some changes after resting a number of key players in a shock FA Cup defeat to Luton. Grant Holt, Alexander Tettey, Michael Turner, Mark Bunn and Robert Snodgrass all are expected to return. Wes Hoolahan and Anthony Pilkington may also appear on the substitute bench. Sebastien Bassong could be fit to play against his former club, but he is under doubt after a calf injury.
Jermain Defoe could miss this game due to a pelvic injury. Clint Dempsey could start up front like in Tottenham’s FA Cup defeat against Leeds. The absence of any other forwards could bring some problems. Hugo Lloris and Mousa Dembele were rested, so they should replace Brad Friedel and Tom Huddlestone. William Gallas with calf injury and Younes Kaboul with knee problem are still out. Sandro is out of the game for the rest of the season cause of a knee surgery. Spurs have a big squad to handle with this, but with the Europa League knockout stages coming up soon they cold be very tired.
