Arsenal vs Stoke City Preview:

On the 2nd of February Arsenal welcomes Stoke at the Emirates Stadium in London. The Gunners are still looking for return on top fourth place. Arsene Wenger’s team has only two wins in eight games in all competitions in January, while the Potters are without three points in Premier League since the Boxing Day.

The last two games between these clubs have ended in draws. In August 2012 this season they played a 0-0 draw at the Britannia Stadium.

Arsenal goes sixth in the EPL standings with thirty eight points from twenty four games, winning ten, drawing eight and losing six matches so far this season.  The Gunners are still four points behind the last Champions League place held by Tottenham. They have had a very poor form with just one win in their last five EPL games. Their present form in all competitions has seen three victories, one draw and one defeat. Last five home games Arsenal have finished with the same stats.

At the same time, the gunners have shown glimpses of brilliant play.  They have a lot of defensive errors. Arsenal are the highest home scorers along with Manchester United. Santi Cazorla is the only player who has started every league game this season.

Stoke are tenth in the league table with thirty points from twenty four games. They have six wins, twelve draws and six losses. The Potters are looking for another strong finish this year. Their present form has seen one win, one draw and three defeats in their last five fixtures. Last five games far away from home have ended with three draws and two defeats. So, they have struggled in the last games. Stoke have drew 2-2 with Wigan having a two goal lead at home last weekend.

Arsenal new left-back Nacho Monreal from Malaga could make his straight debut in the starting line-up, cause of Kieran Gibbs has a thigh injury. Other Spaniard Mikel Arteta could start from the bench after recovering from a calf injury. Francis Coquelin also could return after hamstring injury. Lukasz Fabianski is still out of play due to ankle problems.

Stoke signed Brek Shea on deadline day. But this new player must wait on a visa application for the work permit after his transfer from FC Dallas. Stoke City also bought Jack Butland from Birmingham City, but Asmir Begovic will keep his place between the posts. Tony Pulis probably will play with the same squad that drew with Wigan, it should be appointed that QPR failed to get Peter Crouch.

Arsenal line-up: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Monreal, Ramsey, Wilshere, Walcott, Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud.

Last three games:
