Fulham vs Manchester United Preview:

On the 2nd of February Fulham welcomes Manchester United at the Craven Cottage in London. The visitors will try to achieve a six-game unbeaten run against the Cottagers. The hosts are in need of points going into the game, while Sir Alex Ferguson’s team will be hoping to uphold a seven-point lead over Man City.

 

Fulham are twelfth in the Premier League with twenty eight points from twenty four games. They have seven wins, seven draws and ten defeats so far this season. The Cottagers are clear of relegation zone for now, but their poor run could bring them a lot of problems. They have had a mixed form with two wins, two defeats and a draw in their last five games. Last five home games Fulham have finished with one loss, three draws and one win over West Ham with the score 3-1 in midweek. It was their first victory in their eight league games. These two teams have met in an FA Cup fourth-round in January 26th, with United winning 4-1 at home.

Manchester United stands at the top of the EPL with fifty nine points from twenty four games, winning nineteen, drawing two and loosing three matches so far this season. The Red Devils are seven points ahead of Manchester City. Their present form has seen four wins and one draw from their last five games. Last five home matches Man Utd have finished with straight five wins. United have been in a great form recently, winning 2-1 against Southampton in midweek. Sir Alex Ferguson’s team is undefeated in their last six fixtures against Fulham.

 

Fulham head coach Martin Jol will play without injured Simon Davies, Kerim Frei and Mahamadou Diarra. Kieran Richardson and Dimitar Berbatov also remains a doubt. Berbatov will need a late fitness test after a slight hamstring strain. The club’s two January loan players, Urby Emanuelson and Emmanuel Frimpong could also start from the bench.

 

Manchester United head coach Sir Alex Ferguson can’t count on Darren Fletcher, Ashley Young and Jonny Evans.
