Black Cats welcomes injury-stricken Gunners. Both teams enter in this match in mixed form. Arsenal will be looking for three points in an attempt to close to the Spurs, who are four points ahead of the Gunners.

Sunderland stands twelfth in the EPL table with twenty nine points from twenty five games, having eleven wins, eight draws and six losses. The Black Cats are eight points clear of the relegation zone. Their present form has seen two wins, one draw and two losses in their last five games. Their last five home games have seen the same stats. Also, Sunderland have won five of their last nine EPL matches.

Arsenal goes sixth in the league table with forty one points from twenty five games, wining eleven, drawing eight, and losing six so far this season. They are four points behind rivals Tottenham for the last Champions League spot.  Their present form has seen three wins, one draw and one defeat. Last five away games Gunners finished with two wins, two draws and one defeat.


Martin O’Neill will play without Carlos Cuellar cause of hamstring injury, so Titus Bramble will continue as a partner of John O’Shea. Lee Cattermole’s is absent due to knee injury. But midfielder could make a return to the bench in this game. Wes Brown has a knee injury and is a long-term out. Danny Graham probably once again could feature from the bench.

Arsene Wenger has some problems in central defence zone with Laurent Koscielny is doubtful and Thomas Vermaelen has a ankle injury. It means that Ignasi Miquel or Sebastien Squillaci could appear in this game. Arsenal can’t count on Kieran Gibbs  and Francis Coquelin cause of injuries. Aaron Ramsey is doubtful. Theo Walcott was substituted in England’s win over Brazil in midweek, but he is expected in the starting squad for this clash.
