Newcastle won with the score 3-2 over Chelsea last Saturday.
Tottenham will play without Jermain Defoe cause of ankle injury, so Clint Dempsey is likely to start in the attacking line. Togo have been knocked out of the AFCON, but Emmanuel Adebayor’s return from South Africa was delayed, so he is not expected in this match. Sandro has a knee injury and is out for the rest of the season. Younes Kaboul also has a knee injury. He could return to training next week.
Newcastle can count on Cheikh Tiote after the midfielder’s Ivory Coast national team has been knocked out of the AFCON by Nigeria, so he may appear on the bench. Hatem Ben Arfa has a hamstring injury and remains sidelined.
