Ashley Cole also missed the midweek match, but is expected to replace Ryan Bertrand. Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel have returned from AFCON. So, Rafa Benitez has no fresh injury worries.
Brentford head coach Uwe Rosler will play without Farid El Alagui and Kevin O’Connor, due to long-term injuries. Apart from those two players, the Bees have a full-strength squad.
