France vs Georgia Preview:

Deschamps’ team will try to win to and to insure pressure on Spain. Les Bleus lost their first game in 2013, but they hope to return confidence with another 3 points in Group I against Ketsbaia’s team.

France goes 2nd in the Group I with 7 points from 3 games. They are equal with leaders of the group Spain.  Les Blues have won 2 of their 3 World Cup qualify matches and have dropped points only against Spain. Also, France have lost their last friendly game to Germany. These two internationals have met twice before, and France won both ties.

Georgia stands in 3rd place in Group I with 4 points from 4 games. Their present form has seen 2 defeat, 2 draws and 1 win from last five games. In the World Cup qualifying they have lost to Spain, and Belarus and have drawn with Finland. 3 points against France would level them on points. Also, Georgia played 2 friedlies which ended with a win over Albania and a draw with Egypt.


France head coach Didier Deschamps will test his team on Friday ahead of the principal group game against the European and World champions Spain next week. It is expected that Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud could start from the first minutes. Mathieu Debuchy is injured. Rod Fanni could be in line for a start. But, Christophe Jallet is expected. Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane probably will start from the benched. Laurent Koscielny and Mamadou Sakho are expected in the centre of defence.

Georgia boss Temuri Ketsbaia can’t count on some players due to injuries. Defender Akaki Khubutia could not visit the Stade Charlety due to travel issues.
