The three Lions will fight with Montenegro for the first place in the Group H. Roy Hodgson’s team will try to jump over their opponents with a win, while the home side will attempt to save the qualifying top-spot.
Both previous games between these two sides have ended in draws. Last one ended with the score 2-2, when Wayne Rooney was sent-off for lashing out at Miodrag Dzudovic.
Montenegro currently stands at the top of the Group H with 13 points from 5 games. Their present form has seen 1 draw and 4 straight wins from last five official games. They have been in great form lately, having 2 wins over San Marino, and 1-0 wins over Ukraine and Moldova. Mirko Vucinic is leading goalscorer with 14 goals in 30 games.
England goes 2nd in the Group H with 11 points from 5 games, winning 3 and drawing 2 of them. Their present form has seen 3 wins and 2 draws from last five official games. Last weekend the Three Lions have smashed San Marino 0-8. They have been in fine form lately.
Montenegro could play probably with the same squad that won Moldova last week. Mitar Novakovic could replace suspended Milorad Pekovic. Montenegro have some problems in midfield-zone cause midfielders Nikola Drincic and Branko Boskovic are out of due to injuries. Savo Pavicevic is also suspended, so Vladimir Bozovic could replace him at right-back, while Simon Vukcevic will play into the midfield.
Many players were rested in the 8-0 win over San Marino, so Glen Johnson, Ashley Cole, Steven Gerrard and James Milner will play from the first minutes. They will replace Kyle Walker, Leighton Baines, Frank Lampard and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Jermain Defoe also will play in starting line, while Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge could start from the bench. Chris Smalling and Joleon Lescott are also expected in the centre of defence.
Montenegro line-up: M. Bozovic, V. Bozovic, Basa, Savic, Volkov, Zverotic, Novakovic, Vukcevic, Kasalica, Vucinic, Jovetic.
