The Spurs continue Europa League title race.  Andre Villas-Boas’ team faces the Swiss club in the first-leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Also, they are in a very close fight for the Champions League spots with 5th-placed Arsenal. Their present form has seen 3 losses and 2 wins from last five games. In the Europa League, Tottenham have passed through Lyon and Inter Milan in the previous rounds.  Dembele scored a late goal against Lyon and Adebayor scored surviving goal in extra-time against Inter.  A 4-1 defeat to Inter ended their 10-game unbeaten run in Europe.

Basel stands at the top of Swiss Super League table with 52 points from 25 games, having 3 points advantage over 2nd-placed Grasshopper. Their present form has seen 4 wins and 1 loss. Last five away games Basel have finished with 1 draw, 1 defeat and 3 wins. The Swiss league leaders beat Dnipro and Zenit in the previous rounds of the Europa League.


Tottenham have a fully-fit squad to chose from. Only goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is injured. He is still recovering from a knee injury. But Brad Friedel plays in goal in the Europa League this season. Andre Villas-Boas could count on Michael Dawson and Aaron Lennon, cause both have returned from injuries. Jermain Defoe has scored 4 goals in the Europa League this season, so he will play instead of Emmanuel Adebayor. Sandro and Younes Kaboul remains long-term injured.

Basel have no fresh injury worries. Marco Streller, Fabian Frei and ex-Liverpool def Philipp Degen all are expected in the starting line.
