Anthony Joshua vs Charles Martin Fight Date & Tickets (Announced)

Anthony Joshua will be fighting for the IBF world heavyweight championship title against Charles Martin on 09 April 2016 at London’s O2 Arena. SkySports 1 will broadcast the fight live in the UK and it is likely to be a non-ppv event with couple of other decent fights muted for the night. This will be the first title fight for Joshua who has only fought 16 times before, Charles Martin is not a big name and he only became champion after Tyson Fury was stripped of IBF title and Martin defeated Vyacheslav Glazkov to win the vacated title.

Joshua vs Martin live stream
On paper Joshua should have no problems beating Charles Martin who has a decent record having turned professional in 2012. His 21 knockouts in 23 fights represent power but you have to take into account he has never fought a decent boxer before. Bookmakers has Joshua hot favourite for this fight and in all fairness if it was not a title fight, this will be a step backwards for Joshua.

Who is Charles Martin and how he become IBF Heavyweight Champion ? 29 year old, Martin hails from Missouri, USA and only turned professional in 2012 having fought 63 times as amature. It will be his biggest test to date but he is not a world class fight by any means. It took him around 10 rounds to stop a semi-professional brazilian fight called “Raphael Zumbano Love” but Joshua knocked him out in second round so that pretty much sums up this fight. He took the fight because will be getting the bigger chunk of the purse being champion and secondly because he is traveling to face Joshua. So the fight makes alot of sense for both parties. Joshua is likely to win his first world title while Charles Martin will get a big payday and will be tested against one of the best heavyweight out there.
