French Open 2017 Prize Money – (Single’s winner to pocket €2.1 million)

Rafael Nadal and Jeļena Ostapenko won men’s and women’s singles French Open 2017 titles and they will take home massive €2.1 million ($2.29m) each with their title wins. Below is the entire breakdown of 2017 French Open prize money pool.

French Open got another Prize Money hike with a total increase of 12% in prize money pool taking it to massive €36 million ($39.2m) in total. Both the men’s and women’s singles winners are set to get €2.1 million ($2.29m) while runners up will take home €1m.

A total of €4 million increase see the prize money pool reach €36 million. Men & Women singles winner will earn massive €2.1 million each while the runners up in both men and women singles category taking home around €1 million. Total prize money allocated for singles event is increased from €21.5 million to massive €23 million (€11.5 for mens singles and €11.5 for women’s event) below is the breakdown of Prize Money in all categories and stages of the competition.

Since the euro dropped significantly compared to USD, Leaving French Open trailing other grand slams by a margin in terms of total prize money pool. French open authorities announced another 14% hike in total prize money pool to match other major grand slams. French Open had already increased 2014 and 2015 prize money by +14% and 12.5% respectively and this year’s 14% increase see French Open right up there with the Wimbledon and US Open.

French Open 2016 Prize money is increased to total pool of €32 million that is around €4m increase compared to 2015’s €28.03 million awarded to players. With the new increase men and women singles winners will get €2.1 million each, runners-up will pocket €1m.
