Real Madrid 1-1 Tottenham Highlights (Ronaldo cancels out Varane’s own goal at exciting night at Bernabue)

Real Madrid are set to take on Tottenham Hotspurs on Tuesday night, 17th October 2017 at Santiago Bernabue in Madrid. Its a massive game for both sides where the winner can virtually book their qualification to next round but a draw will also suit both teams considering both are level on points after two matchdays winning their opening two games. Tottenham have come a long way and after making title challenge in premier league on both occassions in last two seasons, its about time they start to rub shoulders with the big European teams. The game will kickoff at around 20:45 CET / 19:45 uk time and we will have match highlights right here on this page.

Match Highlights:

Real Madrid 1-1 Tottenham Hotspurs Highlights
[ UEFA Champions League 2017-18 – Group H Match ]
28′ 0 – 1 Raphael Varane scored the own goal as Spurs took the lead inside first 30 minutes.
43′ 1 – 1 Cristiano Ronaldo scored from penalty spot just before the halftime break to make it 1-1 on the night.

Harry Kane is the new “ronaldo” as far as goal scoring is concerned. He is the most inform striker around Europe in year 2017 scoring 35 goals so far.

Team News & Lineups: Spurs and Read Madrid face each other twice in next two weeks and if Spurs can avoid defeat in both games they will virtually book their place in the knockout stages. However a defeat in both games will leave the door open for Borussia Dortmund to get back in contention. Mauricio Pochettino has been upbeat about his team’s chances against defending European champions in Real Madrid and this tie present a great oppertunity for Spurs to show they are ready to go toe to toe with big European teams.

Real Madrid will welcome back their first choice keeper Keylor Navas while Gareth Bale will miss out due to injury. Ronaldo, Benzema and Asensijo to start upfront while Isco, Kroos and Modric to start in midfield. Spurs on the other hand will have Harry Kane spearheading the attack while Erikson, Song to play in attacking roles with Delle Alli missing for Spurs due to suspension.

This is how i expect both teams to lineup on Tuesday night. Both Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino are expected to field strong teams.

Match Predictions: On paper Tottenham are ready to lock horns with European heavyweights, but again they have been ready for last two years and always fail at the biggest stage. Real Madrid on the other hand usually up their game against tougher sides and I can expect the same on Tuesday night. Im going with a Real Madrid win in this one which will almost secure their place in knockout.
