Manchester City vs Arsenal Highlights EFL Cup 2018 Final Match

Arsenal are set to take on Manchester City in the Engish League Cup (Caraboa Cup) final on Sunday, 25 February 2018 at the Wembley Stadium in London. Its the first chance of winning silverware for both sides this season and although City are favourites going into the final, Arsenal do have tendancy to win the domestic cup finals if the last four/five years to go by. The match will kickoff at around 16:30 uk time and SkySports has the live coverage in the UK. This match will be followed immediately after high profile Premier League game between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Venue: Etihad Stadium, Manchester

Match Highlights Match starts at 2pm uk time and if you missed the live action, you can always watch full match highlights here after the game.

Arsenal have not been at their best in the league this season but they have been getting results in the cup games without much of a trouble so far. League Cup see them in the final of fourth domestic competition in last 5 years and they have won the last three finals they have been involved in at Wembley. City will be hoping to turn their dominant league form into trophies and this is their chance to claim what might be first of many in next couple of years.

City saw off their Champions League away tie against Basel with rather ease and they are well clear at the top of the table in premier league so we expect Guardiola to start with a full strength side in the league cup final.

Last time these two meet was back in November 2017 when goals from De Bruyne and Aguero settled an rather easy game against Arsenal at Etihad Stadium. However, Arsenal are a different beast at Wembley and City have their work cut out to beat this Arsenal side on Sunday.

Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal – November 2017
[ Premier League 2017-18 Match ]
19′ 1 – 0 Kevin de Bruyne put Manchester City in lead in just 19th minute of the game after dominating from the start of the game.
50′ 2 – 0 Sergio Aguero pretty much settled the result scoring City’s second just after the halftime break.

Arsenal are set to start with Aubameyang upfront with Ramsey and Ozil playing in attacking roles while Wenger is likely to pack the midfield with Elneny, Wilshere and Xhaka. Bellerin, Koscielny, Mustafi and Monreal to make the back four while Ospina will start in goal.

Manchester City on the other hand will start with their preferred 4-1-4-1 formation where Aguero to start upfront while Sane, David Silva, De Bruyne and Sterling  to start in attacking roles ahead of Fernandinho.

This is how I expect both teams to lineup on Sunday evening.

Match Predictions: Manchester City are a total different beast this season and although they suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat in the hands of Wigan in FA Cup, that will likely make them even more difficult to beat in the remainder of the season. Arsenal do have good memories of playing at Wembley in recent years but I can’t see them beating City in this one on Sunday. I am going with a comfortable 3-1 win for City.
