Australian (Melbourne) Formula 1 Grand Prix 2018 Race Results & Highlights

2018 Formula One season starts with the traditional Australian Grand Prix this weekend at the MELBOURNE GRAND PRIX CIRCUIT. The coverage begin with the Friday, 23 March 2018 practice sessions followed by Saturday’s qualifying round leading up to Sunday, 25 March 2018’s big race. It will all starts at around 12:00 p.m australian time / 01:00 a.m uk time with the first practice session while The big race on Sunday begins at around 16:00 local / 06:00 am uk time. There have been number of changes heading into the new season and we do a short preview of 2017 season and Australian Grand Prix.

Australian Grand Prix F1 highlights 2017
Number of changes in car manufacturing regulations including Wider tyres, shark fins and changes in front and rear wings have allowed cards to rack up three seconds a lap faster during 2018 pre-season testing. Cars not only look visually spectacular but they are insanely fast going into the new season. Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton will start the season as favorites while Ferrari and Red Bull have managed to close the time gap at the top. McLaren Honda continued to struggle with reliability issues but they might prove to be a surprise package when the official season gets underway.

So it all starts on Friday, 23rd March with the opening two practice sessions. While Saturday, 25 March will see practice session no.3 and the big qualifying round.

The race take place on Sunday, 25 March and SkySports F1 will have live coverage in the UK where race starts at around 06:00 am uk time.

There will be record 21 Formula 1 race in 2018 starting with the Australian Grand Prix which takes place this weekend and many experts predict a lot more closer competition with even three teams (Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull) fighting it out for the 2018 title. Mercedes has won four consecutive constructors and drivers championship and they are just 1 title away from equaling Ferrari’s 5 consecutive titles.

Bookies have Lewis Hamilton has odds on favorite to retain his title however Ferrari and Sebastien Vettel are in a better position to challenge for the title this year compared to 2017. Red Bull are pretty much outsiders but they do have two quality drivers who on their day can upset the odds.
